Social & Behavior Change Officer (P-2) – Temporary

About the role

The Social & Behavior Change (SBC) Officer (P-2) will support UNICEF’s immunization and child health programmes in Angola by designing, managing, monitoring and evaluating evidence‑based SBC strategies. Reporting to the Immunization Specialist and under the guidance of the Chief of Health & Nutrition, the officer will work closely with government partners and communities.

Key responsibilities

• Design, plan and implement SBC activities aligned with UNICEF global guidance and Gavi 6.0 priorities.
• Strengthen community engagement mechanisms to reach zero‑dose and under‑immunized children.
• Build capacity of national immunization programme (NIP) staff and facilitate knowledge exchange.
• Provide technical assistance for the development, piloting and scaling of a national SBC package of interventions.
• Monitor and evaluate the impact of SBC interventions on immunization outcomes.

Required profile

• Experience in designing and implementing social and behaviour change strategies in health or humanitarian contexts.
• Familiarity with immunization programmes and community engagement approaches.
• Ability to work collaboratively with government counterparts and UNICEF teams.
• Strong analytical and monitoring‑and‑evaluation skills.
