About the role
The Country Associate will support CHAI's malaria program in Angola, helping to scale up interventions that reduce disease burden. Based in Luanda, the role involves frequent travel to provinces and occasional international trips.
Key responsibilities
- Provide technical assistance to the national malaria program and refine control interventions.
- Develop and monitor government strategies, roadmaps and costed work plans.
- Assess resource gaps, prepare funding proposals and contribute to grant and donor reporting.
- Design and execute monitoring and evaluation activities, analysing key indicators and surveillance data.
- Track program activities against objectives, identify bottlenecks and work with CHAI and government teams to resolve them.
- Draft programmatic reports, concept notes and other communication products for donors and partners.
Required profile
- Bachelor's degree with 2‑3 years of relevant professional experience.
- Professional fluency in Portuguese and English, both written and verbal.
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving and project‑management abilities.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks and travel frequently (30‑50% of the time).
- Proven interpersonal skills for building relationships in multicultural environments.
Required skills
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint.
- High level of competence with the Microsoft Office suite.
