Health & Nutrition Specialist – Fixed Term, Luanda, Angola

About the role

UNICEF is seeking a Health & Nutrition Specialist (NO-3) to lead the design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of its health and nutrition programme in Angola. The specialist will work closely with government agencies, NGOs, multilateral partners and private sector actors to advance UNICEF’s strategic priorities and contribute to the Sustainable Development Goals.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and update sector analyses, situation reports and integrated health‑nutrition strategies.
• Provide technical guidance and capacity‑building to government, NGOs and other partners throughout project cycles.
• Coordinate with multilateral agencies, bilateral donors, development banks and private sector to align advocacy and resource mobilisation.
• Monitor programme implementation, evaluate results and adjust plans to ensure timely delivery of outcomes.
• Ensure collection and use of sex‑disaggregated data for evidence‑based decision‑making.

Required profile

• Advanced degree in public health, nutrition, international development or a related field.
• Extensive experience in health and nutrition programme management in low‑resource settings.
• Proven ability to work with government bodies, UN agencies and development partners.
• Strong analytical skills and experience with monitoring and evaluation frameworks.
