Health & Nutrition Specialist (NO-3) – Fixed Term in Luanda

About the role

The Health & Nutrition Specialist will lead the development, planning, implementation, monitoring, evaluation and administration of UNICEF’s health and nutrition programme in Angola. This position provides technical and programme support to ensure UNICEF policies and strategies are adapted to achieve strategic priorities and Sustainable Development Goals.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, plan, implement, monitor, evaluate and administer the health and nutrition programme within the country programme.
• Provide effective technical and programme support to adapt UNICEF policies and strategies.
• Conduct sectoral analysis and contribute to situation analysis updates for project planning.
• Collaborate with multilateral and bilateral agencies, development banks, private sector and other partners to formulate advocacy positions and influence resource allocation.
• Establish work plans, support implementation, monitor progress and ensure timely delivery of results.
• Provide sex‑disaggregated data and inputs relevant to the health and nutrition programme.
• Offer technical support and capacity‑building to government, NGOs and other partners throughout project cycles.

Required profile

• Demonstrated ability to deliver technical and programme support in health and nutrition contexts.
• Experience in sectoral analysis, partnership coordination and advocacy.
• Proven capacity to monitor, evaluate and adjust project implementation for improved delivery and sustainability.
• Ability to work with government entities, NGOs and multilateral partners.
