About the role
The Social & Behavior Change (SBC) Officer (P-2) will support UNICEF’s health and nutrition programme in Angola by designing, managing, monitoring and evaluating evidence‑based SBC strategies that increase immunisation uptake.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and implement inclusive SBC strategies aligned with UNICEF global guidance and Gavi 6.0 priorities.
- Strengthen community engagement mechanisms in both development and humanitarian contexts.
- Provide technical assistance to the national immunisation programme (NIP) for capacity building and institutionalisation of best practices.
- Design, pilot and scale a national SBC package of interventions to embed demand‑promotion activities.
- Monitor and evaluate the impact of SBC interventions on immunisation outcomes.
- Facilitate knowledge exchange and support the uptake of new SBC methods internally and externally.
Required profile
- Experience designing and implementing SBC strategies in health or nutrition programmes.
- Familiarity with immunisation programmes and Gavi initiatives.
- Ability to work with government counterparts and multi‑stakeholder teams.
