HIV/AIDS and SRH Technical Officer

About the role

The United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) in Angola is seeking a Technical Officer to lead the integration of HIV/AIDS prevention with sexual and reproductive health (SRH) services. Based in Luanda, the role supports key populations, adolescents, women and vulnerable groups through programme management, technical assistance and partnership building.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, implement, monitor and report on HIV/AIDS priorities within UNFPA Angola’s 2024‑2028 Country Programme.
• Strengthen integration of HIV prevention into adolescent‑friendly health services, family planning, maternal‑neonatal health and gender‑based violence prevention.
• Support scale‑up of Comprehensive Sexuality Education programmes in schools and communities.
• Contribute to national condom programming, including evidence generation, supply‑chain oversight and demand creation.
• Organise technical workshops, stakeholder consultations and coordinate with the National HIV Programme and civil society.
• Provide technical inputs for resource mobilisation, Global Fund proposals and advocacy for rights‑based HIV/SRH policies.

Required profile

• Relevant academic background in public health, epidemiology, sexual and reproductive health or a related field.
• Experience in programme management and coordination of HIV/AIDS and SRH interventions.
• Proven ability to work with government agencies, UN bodies, NGOs and community groups.
• Strong analytical and reporting skills, with experience in evidence generation and knowledge management.
