Production Technician (Angolan National)

About the role

The Production Technician posts either in a fabrication or conversion yard during construction, conversion or commissioning, or offshore during operations. The role covers the safe execution of planned and corrective maintenance on all facility production, under the guidance of the Production Supervisor or Lead Tech, to maximise equipment uptime and availability.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with the company CAMS and assist in recording information in the CMMS
• Receive guidance on planned maintenance work orders from the Head of Department and allocate resources to prepare permits
• Operate process unit and equipment local control panels to monitor and optimise physical and chemical process parameters
• Adjust process parameters via the UCP to meet daily production targets
• Coordinate daily maintenance, repairs, CFTs, shutdowns and isolations, ensuring PTWs and certificates are acknowledged before work starts
• Perform gas tests and isolations according to permit to work and safe entry permits, and close out PTWs after maintenance
• Gather data for daily production reports and maintain a shift log; prepare detailed end-of-rota handover logs
• Participate in safety audits and programs
• Monitor chemical injection equipment, report chemical usage and inventory variances, and carry out performance and compliance testing of wells and oil quality testing when required
• Monitor pipework condition via corrosion probe readings and iron counts

Required profile

• Good communicator, able to discuss technical issues with colleagues, managers and contractors of various nationalities
• Three years' experience as a Production Technician or Operator on an offshore facility, preferably on a FPSO
• Higher National Certificate or certificate-level engineering qualification, or other relevant qualification
• Certificate IV, Production Operations Offshore medical, BOSIET

Required skills

• Familiarity with the Safety Management System and CMMS, Permit to Work systems and ePTW
• Knowledge of isolation planning and isolation databases
• Thorough knowledge of fire and gas/ESD systems, subsea systems, oil separation and stabilization, gas compression/treatment/dehydration, fiscal metering, produced water treatment, seawater cooling/filtration and chemical injection systems
• Experience with installation and commissioning is preferred
