General Manager Operations - FMCG & Food & Beverage

About the role

An established FMCG and food and beverage manufacturing organization in Angola is hiring an experienced General Manager Operations. The role suits a dynamic, results-driven leader who has managed large-scale, multi-line manufacturing facilities and can drive operational excellence while leading cross-functional teams.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end manufacturing operations across multiple food and beverage production lines.
• Oversee production, engineering, maintenance, supply chain, procurement, warehousing and quality functions.
• Drive operational efficiency, productivity improvement, cost optimization and profitability.
• Monitor plant performance through KPIs, OEE, production output, downtime and quality standards.
• Manage operational budgets, CAPEX planning, resource allocation and cost controls.
• Ensure compliance with food safety, HACCP, HSE and applicable quality standards.
• Oversee supply chain, including international procurement, imports, inventory management and logistics.
• Lead and develop a large, multicultural workforce of around 700+ employees.
• Implement continuous improvement initiatives and work with the CEO and senior leadership on strategy.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations Management or a related field; an MBA is advantageous.
• Minimum 12-15 years in FMCG / food and beverage manufacturing, including at least 5 years in senior operational leadership.
• Proven experience managing large-scale, multi-line manufacturing plants.
• Dairy, beverages or liquid processing experience is advantageous; prior experience in Africa or other emerging markets is highly desirable.
