Control Room Operator (Angolan National)

About the role

The Control Room Operator posts to a conversion yard during construction or commissioning, or offshore during operations. The role covers monitoring equipment and systems to maintain asset integrity, reporting defects, keeping records and manuals up to date, and operating the central control room and process and safety systems in line with the Compliance Assurance Management System (CAMS).

Key responsibilities

• Monitor equipment and systems to maintain or enhance performance and ensure asset integrity.
• Prepare and transmit accurate daily reports on time and report defects to the line manager for entry into the CMMS.
• Keep manuals and drawings up to date and ensure Quality, Health, Safety and Environment programmes (CAMS) are followed.
• Maintain safe, cost-effective operation of production systems with minimal environmental impact, in line with legislation, class, flag and CAMS.
• Keep accurate, retrievable records and review CAMS compliance, updating documents as needed.
• Assist in major modifications and surveys and inform the line manager of facility status and notifiable occurrences.
• In the CCR, operate ICSS panels, production and utility workstations, SIS, F&G, wellhead/subsea controls and other view-only screens, and advise outside crew on safe operations.
• Operate ICSS-based control panels to monitor and optimise physical and chemical processes across several processing units.
• Write operational procedures for new processes and projects under the Production Superintendent / Supervisor.
• Ensure plant start-ups and shutdowns within your responsibility are carried out timely and safely.

Required profile

• Three years' experience as a Control Room or CCR operator on an offshore facility, preferably a FPSO.
• Diploma-level engineering degree or production trade certificate, or other relevant qualification.
• Offshore medical and BOSIET certification.
• Strong communication, interpersonal skills and a strong commitment to HSE.

Required skills

• Experience with Safety Management Systems and Computerised Maintenance Management Systems.
• Knowledge of CCR operation, fire and gas systems, subsea systems (including well testing and hydraulics), separation and stabilisation, gas compression/dehydration, sulphur reduction units, fiscal metering and chemical injection.
