Laboratory Technician Trainee (Oil & Gas)

About the role

Saipem is looking for a Laboratory Technician – Trainee to support its oil and gas operations in Angola. You will work in a modern laboratory environment, taking and analysing samples of crude oil, natural gas, water and other process fluids to ensure safe and efficient plant operation.

Key responsibilities

• Collect samples of crude oil, gas, glycol, produced water, injection water, heating and cooling media.
• Perform laboratory analyses including gas chromatography and other fluid tests following company procedures.
• Ensure safe transportation and handling of hydrocarbon samples.
• Calibrate and maintain all laboratory equipment according to manufacturer instructions and Saipem standards.
• Record, interpret and report test results in daily and weekly analytical reports.
• Maintain laboratory stock levels and report any equipment issues to the Production Supervisor.
• Comply with COSHH regulations, Saipem HSE policies, quality standards and Permit to Work requirements.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Chemical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum experience in a laboratory setting.
• Fluent in Portuguese and professional English.
• Residency in Angola with a valid residence card (no sponsorship offered).
