HIV/AIDS and SRH Technical Officer

About the role

The HIV/AIDS and SRH Technical Officer will be based in Luanda, supporting the integration of HIV prevention and sexual and reproductive health services for key and vulnerable populations. The role involves programme management, technical assistance, partnerships, advocacy and coordination within the UN Joint HIV response.

Key responsibilities

• Support planning, implementation, monitoring and reporting of HIV/AIDS priorities within UNFPA Angola’s programme.
• Strengthen integration of HIV prevention with broader SRH services, including adolescent‑friendly health services, family planning, maternal and neonatal health and gender‑based violence prevention.
• Support implementation and scale‑up of Comprehensive Sexuality Education programmes in schools and communities.
• Contribute to national condom programming, evidence generation, capacity development, supply‑chain oversight and demand creation.
• Organise technical workshops, meetings and stakeholder consultations.
• Assist advocacy and resource mobilisation, including contributions to proposals and Global Fund processes.
• Develop and maintain partnerships with government, UN agencies, civil society and community stakeholders.
• Coordinate with the National HIV Programme and other public health institutions, providing technical assistance and capacity‑building support.
• Document good practices, lessons learned and programme results for knowledge management.

Required profile

• Experience in programme management and technical support for HIV/AIDS and SRH initiatives.
• Proven ability to work with government, UN agencies, civil society and community partners.
• Experience in advocacy, resource mobilisation and partnership development.
• Strong coordination skills within multi‑stakeholder environments.
