Construction Project Manager

About the role

The Construction Project Manager (CPM) is a skilled professional responsible for planning, managing, and delivering small to medium‑size construction projects such as office and grounds remodels. The CPM works independently on most assignments while collaborating with senior project managers on more complex initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare project management plans, schedules, and milestones in coordination with contractors.
• Develop cost estimates, budgets, and unit‑cost reports; monitor project costs and approve contractor pay requests.
• Negotiate sub‑contracts, change orders, and manage procurement of materials and equipment within budget constraints.
• Coordinate with finance for payment processing, lien releases, and monthly cost reviews.
• Ensure on‑site work complies with project specifications, church standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Act as liaison among employer, supervisors, local authorities, architects, contractors, and church departments.
• Organize pre‑award, pre‑construction, and coordination meetings; oversee quality, safety, and risk management plans.
• Manage project close‑out activities, including as‑built drawings, warranty processes, and final documentation.

Required profile

• Proven experience in planning, executing, and overseeing construction projects.
• Ability to work independently while supporting senior project managers when needed.
• Experience coordinating contractors, consultants, volunteers, and various stakeholders.
• Strong financial stewardship, including budgeting, cost control, and contract administration.
