Business Analyst - Data, AI & Digital Initiatives

About the role

NeoStats is looking for an experienced Business Analyst to support its client engagements from early-stage solution development through project execution. This is a client-facing consulting role for someone who understands business problems, structures requirements, works with technical teams and translates Data, AI and digital capabilities into practical business outcomes. You will work with client stakeholders, NeoStats consultants, data and AI specialists, architects and delivery teams. The role requires native Portuguese and ideally is based in Angola or Brazil.

Key responsibilities

• Engage with business and technology stakeholders to understand objectives, challenges, processes, data requirements and expected outcomes.
• Lead discovery sessions, stakeholder interviews, workshops and requirements-gathering sessions, and turn business needs into functional requirements, business requirements, user stories, process flows and acceptance criteria.
• Identify gaps between current-state and desired future-state processes.
• Support projects on data platforms, analytics, BI, AI, Generative AI and digital transformation, helping clients define and prioritise use cases.
• Contribute to business cases and value assessments for Data, AI and digital initiatives.
• Support client pitches, proposals, workshops and solution development, including research, presentations, use cases, business cases and transformation roadmaps.
• Translate technical capabilities into clear business value for executives and business stakeholders.
• Build relationships with client stakeholders, communicate complex topics clearly and work with geographically distributed teams remotely.

Required profile

• At least 4 years of experience as a Business Analyst, Consultant, Digital Business Analyst, Data Business Analyst or in a comparable client-facing role.
• Native-level Portuguese and strong professional English, written and spoken.
• Experience supporting technology, data, analytics, AI or digital transformation initiatives.
• Experience facilitating client workshops, interviews and requirements discussions; strong presentation and stakeholder communication skills.
• Comfortable working independently in a remote, international team.
• Ideally based in Angola or Brazil.

Required skills

• Gathering, analysing and documenting business and functional requirements.
• Translating business requirements into requirements for technical delivery teams.
• Preferred: banking, financial services or fintech experience; exposure to modern data platforms, cloud technologies or analytics environments; experience with consulting proposals, RFP responses and pre-sales; exposure to AI, machine learning or Generative AI use cases.
