Temple Facilities Manager

About the role

The Temple Facilities Manager ensures that the temple and its ancillary buildings maintain the beauty, cleanliness, and sacred nature expected by the Church. This senior position begins as a site supervisor during construction and transitions to full‑time facilities management after dedication.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the primary liaison between contractors, the Project Manager, and the Area Temple Facilities Manager.
• Supervise all construction activities and oversee the hand‑over to operations.
• Maintain the temple complex (≈40,000 sq ft), including patron housing, visitor center, and president’s residence.
• Develop and execute the annual maintenance plan, managing preventative maintenance, repairs, and upgrades for electrical, mechanical, audio‑visual, and computer systems.
• Control department labor costs, manage third‑party contracts, and ensure compliance with design documents and local regulations.
• Provide training, coaching, and mentorship to the Temple Facilities Services team.
• Prepare final close‑out documentation, as‑built drawings, and warranty processes.
• Communicate regularly with temple leadership, local authorities, architects, and general contractors.

Required profile

• Senior‑level expertise in facilities management and construction supervision.
• Proven ability to manage mixed workforces and coordinate multiple stakeholders.
• Strong knowledge of building codes, permitting processes, and compliance standards.
• Experience overseeing large‑scale maintenance programs for complex facilities.
