Temple Facilities Manager

About the role

The Temple Facilities Manager ensures that the temple and its surrounding facilities reflect the beauty, cleanliness, and sacred nature expected by the organization. This senior position begins as the site supervisor during construction and transitions to full facilities management after dedication.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the primary liaison between contractors, the Project Manager, and temple leadership during construction.
• Supervise all site activities, ensuring compliance with drawings, specifications, permits, and local regulations.
• Maintain the temple complex (approximately 40,000 sq ft) and ancillary buildings, upholding established standards during peak usage and when closed.
• Develop and execute the annual facilities plan, overseeing budgets, preventative maintenance, and repairs of electrical, mechanical, audio‑visual, and computer systems.
• Manage labor costs, third‑party contracts, and the performance of the facilities services team through training, coaching, and mentoring.
• Lead final project close‑out activities, including as‑built documentation, warranty processes, and compliance reporting.
• Provide regular status reports to temple leadership and coordinate with local government, architects, and general contractors.

Required profile

• Current and valid Temple recommend (or equivalent eligibility).
• Four‑year degree in facilities management, building industry, project management, or a related field.
• Minimum four years of experience in facilities or construction management, preferably in a religious or institutional setting.
