SURF Offshore HSE Supervisor - Angola

About the role

A client is looking for an experienced SURF Offshore HSE Supervisor to support a major deepwater offshore development project in Angola. The role is hands-on, working aboard installation vessels during subsea construction and installation activities, with a 4 weeks on / 4 weeks off rotation on a 12-month contract.

Key responsibilities

• Provide daily HSE supervision onboard installation vessels during SURF operations.
• Monitor compliance with project HSE plans, procedures and safe systems of work.
• Take part in risk assessments, toolbox talks, pre-job meetings and permit-to-work reviews.
• Carry out HSE inspections, audits, safety observations and Life Saving Rule checks.
• Support investigation and reporting of incidents, near misses, unsafe acts and unsafe conditions.
• Verify contractor compliance with lifting, confined space entry, working at height and hot work requirements.
• Take part in emergency response drills and maintain HSE records, action trackers and inspection reports.
• Interface with construction, contractor, subcontractor and offshore management teams.

Required profile

• Degree in engineering, environmental science, occupational health and safety or a related discipline.
• NEBOSH certificate, NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent HSE qualification.
• Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar HSE supervisory role in offshore oil and gas projects.
• Experience supporting SURF, subsea, offshore construction, marine operations or installation campaigns.
• Previous experience in Angola or West Africa is advantageous; Portuguese and/or French is beneficial.

Required skills

• BOSIET and HUET certification.
• Permit-to-work systems, risk assessments, incident investigations and contractor management.
• HSE inspections, observations, audits and performance reporting.
• Strong communication, leadership and stakeholder management skills.

What we offer

• Offshore rotational assignment: 4 weeks on / 4 weeks off.
• 12-month contract, approximately 90% field-based and 10% reporting and administration.
