Subsea Well Intervention Engineer

About the role

Baker Hughes is seeking a Subsea Well Intervention Engineer to develop and support innovative subsea intervention concepts that maximise offshore asset value. You will work within the Oilfield Services team, collaborating with multidisciplinary specialists to design and evaluate intervention strategies across the offshore lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in defining subsea access and intervention concepts, including riser‑based, riserless, light‑well, and plug‑and‑abandon (P&A) approaches.
• Compile technical inputs on subsea trees, wellheads, tooling, ROV support, vessel requirements and operating envelope constraints.
• Provide feasibility data on water depth, metocean conditions, vessel availability, regulatory requirements and execution risks.
• Prepare cost and schedule assumptions for vessel spread, equipment mobilisation, tooling needs and intervention duration.
• Integrate inputs from wells, production, facilities and commercial teams to deliver a techno‑economic case for mature offshore and decommissioning opportunities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Petroleum, Subsea, Marine, Offshore Engineering or a related discipline.
• Significant experience in subsea well intervention, well access, offshore operations or P&A activities.
• Proven ability to support projects from concept development through execution and post‑job evaluation.
• Strong communication skills to convey technical and economic benefits to senior specialists.
