PTW Coordinator

About the role

We are looking for a Permit to Work (PTW) Coordinator to lead the planning, assessment and execution of critical work permits across production, maintenance and marine operations. The role ensures that all permit‑related documentation, risk assessments and isolation controls are in place to guarantee safe and efficient work execution.

Key responsibilities

• Identify priority jobs with department supervisors and coordinate daily planning with Production, Maintenance and Marine teams.
• Lead the daily PTW meeting, discuss critical activities, and prioritize work for safe execution.
• Assess work permits for completeness, required standards, and attach necessary documents such as isolation certificates, marked‑up drawings, P&IDs and risk assessments.
• Participate in risk assessments and job safety analyses to meet HSE standards.
• Collaborate with the Performing Authority to identify mechanical, process and electrical hazards and control measures.
• Manage the “Lock‑Out‑Box” system and maintain the Extended Period Isolation Register.
• Develop isolation strategies, ensure isolations are implemented before permit execution, and follow up on removal after work completion.
• Audit work permits for correct implementation of safety controls and ensure all complementary documents (MSDS, certificates) are approved.
• Verify issuance of gas detectors to PTW users and confirm required competencies.
• Facilitate handovers at shift or crew changes, and ensure PTW copies are displayed or filed appropriately.
• Act as competency assessor for Control of Work training and provide guidance to new personnel.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of Permit to Work processes and HSE policies.
• Experience conducting risk assessments, job safety analyses and isolation planning.
• Ability to coordinate with multiple departments and lead daily planning meetings.
• Familiarity with mechanical, process and electrical hazard identification.
• Competence in reviewing and approving permit documentation and related certificates.
