Field Service Specialist II – MWD/LWD & Directional Drilling

About the role

Halliburton is seeking a Field Service Specialist II to provide on‑site supervision of Measurement‑While Drilling (MWD), Logging‑While Drilling (LWD) and Directional Drilling (DD) operations. The role involves ensuring high‑quality data acquisition, tool preparation, and customer service delivery in a field‑based drilling environment.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise MWD/LWD and DD operations, including tool preparation, data acquisition, log generation and quality control.
• Assemble and verify Bottom Hole Assemblies (BHAs) according to plan, ensuring correct torque, doping and handling procedures.
• Provide technical consultation using DD software, well‑path projections, well‑profile plots and survey calculations.
• Test all tools and equipment before, during and after each job and resolve operational issues to minimise service disruptions.
• Collaborate with Remote Drilling Coordinators to complete service vouchers, equipment reports, radiation surveys and end‑of‑job documentation.
• Maintain accurate records of DD equipment, ensure proper lay‑out after use and support continuous performance‑improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; undergraduate degree in a STEM discipline.
• Minimum one year experience in LWD and DD operations, preferably as a Field Service Specialist I.
• Completion of basic M/LWD and DD training programs and ability to obtain required on‑shore/off‑shore safety certifications.
• Willingness to work in a field‑based drilling environment while adhering to high operational and safety standards.
