Program Manager, Malaria and NTDs

About the role

The Clinton Health Access Initiative (CHAI) is seeking an entrepreneurial leader to serve as Program Manager for Malaria and Neglected Tropical Diseases (NTDs) in Angola. This senior position oversees strategy, operations, and impact, acting as CHAI’s most senior in‑country representative.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute the national team’s strategy, operational plans, and program design in partnership with the Angola Ministry of Health and donors.
• Lead a multi‑program team of about six staff, ensuring high‑quality delivery, monitoring, and evaluation of malaria and NTD initiatives.
• Build and maintain trusted relationships with government, NGOs, private sector, and international partners; represent CHAI at national and international forums.
• Support fundraising, develop new programs, and manage donor relationships.

Required profile

• 7+ years of progressively responsible experience in program management, preferably in global health or a fast‑paced consulting environment.
• Fluent written and spoken English and Portuguese.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and lead multidisciplinary teams in unstable, developing settings.
• Willingness to travel up to 20% within Angola.

Required skills

• High proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
