Mission Home Custodian

About the role

The Mission Home Custodian provides essential custodial services for Church facilities in Luanda, ensuring a clean, safe, and reverent environment for worship, learning, and community activities. This onsite position supports missionaries and mission leaders by maintaining both public spaces and private living quarters.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine cleaning of assigned areas, including floors, carpets, and furnishings.
• Operate custodial equipment such as buffers, carpet cleaners, and vacuums.
• Lift up to 50 lb, push loaded carts, bend, crawl, and reach as needed.
• Make beds, launder linens, and arrange living spaces for missionaries.
• Set up meeting rooms, replace draperies, chandeliers, or lights upon request.
• Use cleaning agents and chemicals safely with appropriate protective gear.
• Report maintenance issues to the facilities management team.
• Maintain good public relations and follow safety and equipment‑usage training.

Required profile

• Current or eligible temple recommend holder.
• Physically fit to work up and down steps and handle manual tasks.
• Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions in English.
• Capable of working independently and under direction from mission leaders.

Required skills

• Operation of custodial equipment (buffers, carpet cleaners, vacuums).
• Basic computer skills for reporting and task tracking.
• Knowledge of safe handling of cleaning chemicals and personal protective equipment.
• Ability to prioritize and organize cleaning tasks, including work at heights.
