Humanitarian Services Program Specialist

About the role

The Humanitarian Services Program Specialist supports the Welfare and Self‑Reliance Department in delivering humanitarian projects that align with the Church’s 5‑year area plan. The role combines project management, coordination with internal and external partners, and the creation of communication materials for Church‑wide distribution.

Key responsibilities

• Support implementation of humanitarian projects in assigned countries/provinces, ensuring alignment with global Church priorities.
• Coordinate logistics and execution with internal departments, NGOs, local officials and other partners.
• Maintain project documentation, collect data and produce transparent reports for accountability.
• Assist with budgeting, procurement and compliance under the guidance of the Area Humanitarian Manager.
• Participate in monitoring and evaluation activities to assess outcomes and recommend improvements.
• Supervise and train humanitarian missionaries operating in the area.

Required profile

• Current Temple Recommend or certification by priesthood leaders.
• Relevant bachelor’s degree or at least 8 years of related experience progressing toward a degree.
• Strong understanding of welfare, self‑reliance services and humanitarian standards.
• Proven ability to build trust with mid‑level and senior Church, organizational and community leaders.
• Excellent written and verbal communication in English and strong problem‑solving skills.
• Willingness to travel up to 40 % of the time.
