Methods and Discipline Engineer

About the role

The Methods and Discipline Engineer will develop, review and optimise working methods, SOPs and maintenance execution plans for Saipem's on‑shore assets. The role ensures all engineering designs and technical interventions comply with international codes, company standards and asset‑integrity criteria while supporting major shutdowns and continuous‑improvement projects.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, review and optimise working methods, standard operating procedures (SOPs) and maintenance execution plans to improve asset reliability.
• Guarantee that engineering projects, modifications and technical interventions meet industry standards, international codes and asset‑integrity requirements.
• Support technical preparation and scope definition for major turnarounds, engineering modification campaigns and continuous‑improvement initiatives.
• Monitor engineering KPIs, analyse trends and propose solutions to eliminate bottlenecks and maximise efficiency.
• Provide specialised technical assistance to maintenance, operations and procurement teams, validating specifications for materials, equipment and contracted services.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Process Engineering or equivalent.
• 8‑10 years of proven experience as a Methods and Discipline Engineer in the Oil & Gas sector, focusing on on‑shore facilities.
• Fluency in English (mandatory for technical reporting and cross‑border collaboration).

Required skills

• In‑depth knowledge of FMEA, RCM and RBI methodologies.
• Advanced ability to read, redline and update P&IDs, isometrics and electrical single‑line diagrams.
• Strong familiarity with global engineering standards such as API, ASME, ANSI, ISO and IEC.
• Expertise in critical‑path analysis, scope optimisation and resource scheduling for major maintenance events.
