Mechanical Engineer – FPSO Operations Support

About the role

We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer to provide dedicated engineering support for FPSO (Floating Production Storage and Offloading) operations. The role involves delivering technical solutions, generating work scopes, and ensuring mechanical integrity for both onshore and offshore teams.

Key responsibilities

• Provide mechanical engineering support, including offshore visits when required.
• Generate detailed work scopes, cost estimates and compile maintenance or minor modification work packs for offshore execution.
• Offer expertise on specific mechanical, fabricated and materials‑handling equipment.
• Coordinate activities within the integrated facility plan and ensure compliance with planning gates.
• Support modification studies and projects following the technical management of change procedure.
• Assist in budgeting, monitor expenditures and highlight commercial or technical risks.
• Manage subcontractors and suppliers to meet safety, quality and CSR standards.
• Perform engineering design and analysis in line with client specifications, company policies and industry codes.
• Participate in safety reviews such as HAZID and HAZOP and close out actions promptly.
• Maintain mechanical specifications, standards and act as the focal point for mechanical safety rules.
• Conduct technical integrity audits and contribute to long‑term facility modification plans.

Required profile

• Proven experience in mechanical engineering within offshore or FPSO environments.
• Strong understanding of cost estimation, budgeting and change management processes.
• Ability to manage subcontractors and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
• Experience conducting safety reviews (HAZID, HAZOP) and technical audits.
• Excellent communication skills to interface with multidisciplinary teams.
