HR Director – Lead Human Resources in Angola

About the role

The HR Director will lead all Human Resources and HR Administration functions for our operations in Angola. Reporting to Country Management and working closely with Group HR, the role ensures HR strategies align with business objectives, local legislation, and corporate standards. This senior position drives talent acquisition, performance management, learning, employee relations and compliance across the country.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement the country HR strategy in line with Group priorities and business goals.
• Partner with senior leaders on workforce planning, succession, talent management and organisational design.
• Oversee recruitment, onboarding and localisation initiatives to meet current and future talent needs.
• Lead performance management, learning and development programmes, and succession planning.
• Manage HR administration, expatriate programmes, compensation and benefits, and ensure compliance with Angolan labour law.
• Support change‑management projects, organisational development and culture‑building activities.
• Provide strategic HR advice to business units and monitor HR metrics and workforce trends.

Required profile

• Proven experience in a senior HR leadership role, preferably within a multinational environment.
• Strong knowledge of Angolan labour legislation and HR best practices.
• Demonstrated ability to develop and execute HR strategies that support business growth.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Fluency in English; Portuguese is an advantage.
