Head of Operations

About the role

Noatum Ports is looking for an experienced Head of Operations to lead all terminal activities at its Luanda Terminal in Angola. The role ensures safe, efficient and profitable port operations while driving continuous improvement and customer satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Lead 24/7 terminal operations, guaranteeing safety and efficiency.
• Drive productivity, operational performance and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Manage port assets, equipment performance and operational planning.
• Ensure compliance with HSE, ISPS, environmental and regulatory requirements.
• Develop and implement operational strategies aligned with business objectives.
• Build and maintain relationships with customers, shipping lines, port authorities and regulators.
• Mentor and develop multidisciplinary operational teams.
• Monitor KPIs and take corrective actions to improve performance.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Logistics, Supply Chain, Business Administration, Maritime Studies or related field.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in port, maritime, logistics or terminal operations.
• At least 5 years in a senior operational leadership role.
• Proven experience managing container or multipurpose terminals.
• Strong background in operational planning, asset management and budget control.
• Fluent English; Portuguese or Spanish is a plus.

Required skills

• Experience with Terminal Operating Systems (TOS).
• Knowledge of port technology solutions.
• Professional certifications in Lean, Six Sigma or Project Management are desirable.
