General Manager – Commercial

About the role

We are seeking an experienced General Manager – Commercial to steer the commercial and corporate agenda of a fast‑growing FMCG business in Angola. Reporting to the CEO and working closely with the GM Operations, you will be responsible for driving revenue, profitability and sustainable growth while building a high‑performing, professionally managed organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Own overall revenue, gross margin and commercial P&L performance.
• Develop and execute pricing, price‑pack and trade‑investment strategies to maximise ROI.
• Lead the Route‑to‑Market strategy, expanding distribution beyond Luanda into key provinces and managing distributor, wholesaler and key‑account networks.
• Drive brand growth, trade marketing and consumer activation across the portfolio.
• Collaborate with Finance to ensure strong financial control, credit performance and working‑capital management.
• Provide leadership for commercial and corporate functions, partnering with HR on talent, performance and succession planning.
• Oversee legal, contractual and governance matters, maintaining strong relationships with government and regulatory bodies.

Required profile

• Proven senior commercial leadership experience in FMCG or a related fast‑moving consumer sector.
• Strong financial acumen with a track record of managing P&L, pricing and trade‑credit performance.
• Demonstrated ability to build and optimise distribution networks and route‑to‑market models.
• Experience in brand and trade‑marketing strategy, delivering measurable commercial returns.
• Leadership capability to develop high‑performing teams and drive corporate governance standards.
