General Manager – Aviation Ground Handling

About the role

We are seeking a dynamic General Manager to lead our aviation ground handling operations in Angola. This senior position reports directly to regional leadership and is responsible for delivering safety, service excellence, and financial performance across a fast‑growing market.

Key responsibilities

• Lead all country operations, ensuring the highest standards of safety, service delivery, compliance, and operational performance.
• Take full accountability for business performance, including P&L management, budgeting, forecasting, and financial controls.
• Drive operational efficiency, productivity improvements, and continuous enhancement of service quality.
• Identify and develop new commercial opportunities to support organic growth and strengthen market position.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with airline customers, government agencies, regulatory authorities, and industry partners.
• Lead, engage, and develop multidisciplinary teams, fostering a high‑performance culture.
• Ensure compliance with company procedures, airline requirements, local regulations, and QHSE standards.
• Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and performance metrics to inform strategic decisions.

Required profile

• Proven leadership experience in ground handling or broader aviation services.
• Strong commercial acumen with a track record of delivering business growth and managing full P&L responsibility.
• Extensive operational management experience in airport or ground operations environments.
• Deep understanding of ground handling operations, safety standards, customer service delivery, and regulatory requirements.
• Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and develop large teams in a complex setting.
• Excellent stakeholder management skills.
• Bachelor’s degree (MBA advantageous) and fluency in English and Portuguese.
