Field Service Engineer Trainee

About the role

As a Field Service Engineer Trainee at Siemens Energy, you will support the Field Service team in delivering maintenance, troubleshooting, commissioning and technical support for customer equipment and energy infrastructure. Working alongside experienced engineers and technicians, you will gain hands‑on exposure to field operations while learning Siemens Energy’s safety, quality and engineering best practices.

Key responsibilities

• Assist Field Service Engineers during maintenance, inspection, troubleshooting and repair activities on customer sites.
• Support commissioning and testing of Siemens Energy equipment and systems.
• Participate in preventive and corrective maintenance programmes.
• Collect, record and analyse technical data from field operations.
• Help prepare technical reports, service documentation and maintenance records.
• Take part in safety briefings, toolbox talks and compliance activities.
• Collaborate with internal teams and customers to meet project and service delivery requirements.
• Assist with inventory checks, tool management and field service logistics when required.
• Engage in training, mentoring and development activities within the Siemens Energy Trainee Programme.

Required profile

• Recent graduate or final‑year student in Electrical, Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering.
• Strong interest in field service, maintenance and energy technologies.
• Basic understanding of engineering principles and industrial equipment.
• Good organisational and planning skills with a proactive attitude.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills in English.
• Willingness to travel and work at customer sites.
