About the role

The Equity Operations Lead runs the operations and compliance of Deel's Equity for EORs service, covering cross-border regulatory requirements, event execution and product collaboration. The role works closely with Legal, Payroll, People and Finance to deliver equity support that enables Deel to scale its equity programs globally. It requires prior knowledge of international tax treatments, global equity reporting and the impact of employment-type changes on withholding tax liabilities during exercises.

Key responsibilities

  • Manage the Equity for EORs service end-to-end, including client onboarding, tax event processing, payroll collaboration and product automation collaboration.
  • Partner with Product to develop and lead continuous improvements and scalable automation solutions for equity operations.
  • Work with Legal and Finance so equity-related actions align with cap table governance and internal policies.
  • Support equity participants, resolving inquiries efficiently with a strong customer focus.
  • Collaborate with Payroll to ensure accurate and timely calculation and reporting of tax withholding obligations across jurisdictions.
  • Work with People to validate and process equity data for board approvals, new hire grants, promotions and organizational changes.
  • Design and deliver training materials and sessions on the equity program and its tax implications.
  • Ensure global compliance with income and tax withholding rules, especially for cross-border mobility or changes in employment type (e.g. contractor to employee).
  • Day-to-day: lead equity operations support for internal teams, prepare and review data for grant cycles, manage country equity reporting and coordinate with cross-functional and external stakeholders.

Required profile

  • 7+ years of experience in equity administration, payroll, finance or related fields, with direct responsibility for global equity operations.
  • Proven experience administering global stock option programs with a cap table platform is a big advantage.
  • Track record managing stock options, cap table systems and equity-related legal and financial documentation.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management and customer service skills.

Required skills

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel or similar tools for equity data analysis and reporting.
  • Ability to lead cross-functional collaboration across Legal, Payroll, People and external vendors.
  • Attention to detail and ability to manage complex data across systems.

What we offer

  • Salary quoted in USD, with offers localized to the candidate's country.
  • Stock grant opportunities depending on role, employment status and location.
  • Additional perks and benefits depending on employment status and country.
  • Optional flexible working office membership with IWG.
