Electrical Technician

About the role

SBM Offshore is seeking an Electrical Technician to carry out maintenance and preservation tasks on offshore vessels. The role ensures the reliability and longevity of electrical equipment through safe, efficient work in line with company procedures. You will work closely with the Electrical Supervisor and report any safety‑critical issues.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and adjust electrical assets including systems, UPS batteries, generators, switchboards, motors, wiring and portable tools.
• Perform cleaning, housekeeping, blasting, painting, isolation, reinstatement, greasing and preservation of topside components such as flanges, bolts and valves.
• Comply with authorization procedures, safe working practices and specific instructions.
• Plan and use resources and spares cost‑effectively, ensuring operating requirements are available.
• Record all maintenance actions and adjustments in the Maintenance Management System (MMS) and monitor asset performance.
• Inform the supervisor of all activities, especially those affecting safety.

Required profile

• Demonstrated safety awareness and technical competence in offshore electrical maintenance.
• Authorized to perform electrical work as defined by the UEA or Fleet Electrical Assessor.
• Ability to coordinate with subcontractors, visitors and vendor representatives.
• Report directly to the Electrical Supervisor.
