Driver – UN Resident Coordinator Office

About the role

The United Nations Resident Coordinator Office in Luanda is seeking a reliable driver to support the transportation of staff, visitors and cargo. The role involves safe vehicle operation, minor maintenance, and occasional procurement tasks to ensure smooth daily operations.

Key responsibilities

• Drive vehicles safely for the transport of authorized personnel and general cargo.
• Deliver parcels, documents and other items between the office, ministries, embassies and other institutions.
• Make minor purchases, collect urgent supplies from local vendors and handle customs formalities for goods.
• Receive official personnel at the airport and provide courteous assistance to visitors.
• Perform day‑to‑day vehicle maintenance, including checking oil, water, battery, brakes, tires and tools; carry out minor repairs and arrange for larger repairs.
• Log fuel consumption, maintenance activities and report any damage or loss of vehicle equipment.
• Follow accident‑reporting procedures and apply good judgment in all assignments.
• Assist with data collection, preparation of presentations and updating of informational material such as web pages or brochures.
• Undertake other duties as assigned by the Head of the Resident Coordinator’s Office.

Required profile

• Knowledge of driving rules and regulations.
• Familiarity with local road conditions, security considerations and frequently travelled routes.
• Professionalism, reliability and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
• Attention to detail in vehicle upkeep and documentation.

Required skills

• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to perform basic vehicle maintenance and minor repairs.
