Data Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a skilled Data Engineer to join our banking team in Luanda for a 6‑12 month contract. The role focuses on building and automating data pipelines that feed core banking systems into a centralized data warehouse and ensuring regulatory reporting compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines to consolidate banking data into a data warehouse or data lake.
• Automate BNA regulatory reporting, including data reconciliation and validation for the National Bank of Angola.
• Ensure data quality, security, and lineage documentation through robust data governance practices.
• Collaborate with Finance, Risk, and Compliance teams to optimise data processes for speed, scalability, and security.

Required profile

• Must be physically based onsite in Luanda for the full contract duration.
• 5+ years of experience in Data Engineering or Data Science, preferably within the banking sector.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Engineering, Data Science, Information Systems, or a related field.

Required skills

• Advanced SQL, Python, XML, JSON.
• Experience with Oracle and SQL Server databases.
• ETL/ELT design, Data Warehouse and Data Lake concepts.
• Orchestration tools such as Airflow, Azure Data Factory, SSIS, or Control‑M.
