Chief Financial Officer (CFO) – Finance Leader

About the role

The CFO will lead the full financial and administrative management of the company, ensuring transparency, efficiency and robust internal controls while supporting the transformation from an O&M service provider to a water and sanitation operator. The role serves as the primary financial liaison with the parent company, investors, government bodies and banks.

Key responsibilities

• Define and implement the financial strategy aligned with growth objectives and the new business model.
• Oversee accounting, financial reporting, treasury, cash management and foreign exchange risk hedging.
• Lead FP&A activities, budgeting, forecasting and profitability analysis by contract/project.
• Ensure tax compliance, manage relationships with tax authorities and handle tax planning.
• Maintain compliance with Angolan foreign‑exchange regulations, anti‑corruption and AML policies.
• Supervise procurement, logistics, IT/ERP systems and corporate communications.

Required profile

• 10+ years in senior finance leadership (CFO, Finance Director or equivalent), preferably in Angola or similar African markets.
• Experience in infrastructure, utilities, water & sanitation or long‑term contract environments.
• Proven ability to manage multidisciplinary teams and interact with international investors and financial institutions.
• Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or related field; postgraduate qualification (MBA, CFA, ACCA) is a plus.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of Angolan accounting, tax and foreign‑exchange legislation.
• Expertise in FP&A, financial modelling and treasury management.
• Proficiency with corporate ERP and procurement/logistics systems.
• Experience in compliance, anti‑corruption and AML frameworks.
• Portuguese (essential) and English (desirable).
