Chief Education (P-4) – Fixed Term

About the role

The Chief Education leads UNICEF's education and adolescent programmes in Angola, overseeing strategic planning, implementation and results delivery to strengthen national education systems.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and supervise all stages of education programmes, from planning to results monitoring.
• Lead a multidisciplinary team of national and international staff, UN Volunteers and Junior Professional Officers.
• Develop action plans and ensure progress towards concrete, sustainable outcomes using results‑based management.
• Provide technical advice, advocacy, partnership building and knowledge management.

Required profile

• Advanced university degree (Master’s or equivalent) in education, economics, psychology, sociology or related field.
• Minimum eight years of professional experience in programme planning, management or research in education at the international level, including managerial roles.
• Fluency in English; working knowledge of Portuguese highly desirable.

Required skills

• Strong understanding of global education developments and policy dialogue.
• Ability to analyse education sector data and support gender and equity considerations.
