Category Manager – Angola & DRC

About the role

JTI is seeking an experienced procurement professional to lead indirect procurement activities across Angola and the Democratic Republic of Congo. The Category Manager will support two fast‑growing markets, ensuring strategic sourcing, supplier negotiations, and contract management align with global policies.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee Services and Marketing & Sales procurement categories in Angola and DRC.
• Lead strategic sourcing initiatives, tendering, and contract management while maintaining compliance.
• Collaborate with Marketing, Sales, Finance, P&C, and other functions to identify value‑creation opportunities.
• Manage multiple projects in a fast‑paced environment, balancing urgent priorities.
• Drive supplier performance, cost optimisation, risk mitigation, and continuous improvement.
• Provide market intelligence and procurement expertise to support business decisions.
• Travel across Angola, DRC, and South Africa to support stakeholders.

Required profile

• University degree in Procurement, Supply Chain, Finance, Business Administration or related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in procurement, category management or strategic sourcing within an international organisation.
• Fluency in English, French and Portuguese.
• Proven ability to work in a complex, fast‑moving environment and manage multiple priorities.
• Strong leadership presence, emotional intelligence and confidence to influence senior stakeholders.
• Experience working with cross‑functional and senior leadership teams.
• FMCG experience is a strong advantage.
