Cargo Supervisor

About the role

The Cargo Supervisor will lead the planning, coordination and execution of all cargo loading and unloading activities for Saipem’s offshore and onshore projects in Angola. Reporting to the Cargo Superintendent, you will ensure efficient operations while maintaining the highest health, safety and environmental standards.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise the planning and execution of lifting, loading and unloading operations on vessels and offshore platforms.
• Lead field teams including cargo operators, deck crews and equipment personnel.
• Enforce compliance with HSE regulations, asset integrity protocols and international lifting standards.
• Manage resources and equipment to meet project schedules and vessel turnaround targets.
• Coordinate logistics communication between onshore bases and offshore facilities.

Required profile

• Technical High School Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 8 years of cargo supervision experience in the oil & gas sector.
• Fluent Portuguese and functional English.
• Residency in Angola with a valid residence card (no sponsorship).

Required skills

• Advanced rigging techniques and sling configurations.
• Crane operations and weight distribution principles.
• Securing cargo for marine transport and vessel loading planning.
• Container stuffing and stripping management.
• Deep knowledge of SOLAS, MARPOL, LOLER and PUWER regulations.
• Hazard identification (HAZID/HAZOP) and risk assessment.
• Inventory tracking, berth planning and vessel turnaround optimization.
• Proficiency with real‑time metocean condition monitoring and drift forecasting software.
