Cashier

About the role

Rural King is looking for a friendly and accurate Cashier to deliver a positive customer experience in its stores. The role involves processing transactions, assisting shoppers, promoting loyalty programs, and keeping the front‑end area clean and organized.

Key responsibilities

• Greet customers, answer questions, and provide product information while processing cash, credit, debit and other payment types.
• Handle returns, exchanges, layaways, price disputes and educate shoppers about the Rural King Loyalty Program, RK Visa and RK Plus Protection Plan.
• Reconcile registers, complete paperwork, deactivate EAS devices and spider wraps, and maintain accurate transaction records.
• Keep checkout areas, carts, restrooms and service zones clean, stocked and loss‑prevention aware.
• Collaborate with loaders, other associates and support cross‑training across store departments.

Required profile

• Customer‑service or retail experience preferred.
• Strong communication, interpersonal and attention‑to‑detail skills.
• Ability to handle cash accurately and follow procedures.
• Comfortable working in a fast‑paced, team‑oriented environment.
• Physical ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 30 lb regularly.
