WASH Officer (NO-1) – Fixed‑Term

About the role

UNICEF’s Angola Country Office is seeking a WASH Officer to support climate‑resilient water, sanitation and hygiene programmes and emergency response. The role reports to the WASH Specialist and contributes to the Country Programme 2024‑2028.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and plan WASH components of the country programme.
• Manage, monitor and deliver programme results, ensuring compliance with UNICEF standards.
• Provide technical and operational support for programme implementation, including humanitarian preparedness and response.
• Support Disaster Risk Reduction and Anticipatory Action initiatives across sectors.
• Build and maintain partnerships with government, NGOs and other stakeholders.
• Promote innovation, knowledge management and capacity‑building activities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Environmental Engineering, Disaster Management, International Development or a related field.
• Minimum of one year relevant experience in United Nations, emergency response, water and sanitation, hygiene promotion, DRR or climate‑resilience programmes.
