Terminal & Marine Turnaround Operations Advisor

About the role

The CAN Group of companies is seeking a Terminal & Marine Turnaround Operations Advisor to work on a 28/28 rotational basis in Malongo, Angola. The role supports routine and major maintenance events, ensuring safe and efficient shutdown, isolation and clean‑up of facilities.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and resolve operational and technical issues within assigned assets.
• Provide technical guidance during abnormal situations or incidents.
• Coordinate with facility owners and multidisciplinary teams (SCM, Facility Engineering, M&R, etc.) to meet asset needs and business plans.
• Develop and mentor field/facility operators and mechanical representatives for pitstop/turnaround events.
• Oversee planning, preparation, and execution of shutdown, bleed‑off, isolation and clean‑up activities.
• Participate in review and prioritisation of pitstop/turnaround worklists and ensure work optimisation.
• Assign resources for routine and major maintenance, including area control and permit coordination.
• Lead or partner with operations to ensure safe shut‑in, depressurisation and equipment cleaning.
• Maintain event milestones, KPIs and conduct post‑maintenance activities such as scaffold removal, painting and insulation.

Required profile

• Strong interpersonal and communication abilities.
• Proven track record of promoting a strong safety culture and ensuring compliance with operational standards.
• Skilled at prioritising work, resolving conflicts and aligning with planning, engineering, inspection and repair teams.
• Experience in production operations offshore, preferably in a leadership or coordination role.
