Site Supervisor - RF/RAN and Transmission

About the role

Careers in Africa is recruiting a Site Supervisor in Luanda for the telecommunications sector. The role supervises ASP installations, including RF/RAN and transmission fault-finding, and ensures that site engineers and installers deliver services to client quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise RF/RAN and transmission fault-finding such as VSWR, sector swaps, tilts, connector replacement, RF and IF cabling, rectifier module swaps, SAM environmental alarms and integration and testing on the Radio Access Network and Transmission Network.
• Check that the Site Installation Engineer or Installer can deliver the service according to client quality standards, and escalate poor OHS performance to the Local Sourcing Manager.
• Perform preventative maintenance on RF/RAN and MW sites, and carry out quality measures and audits.
• Oversee and report risks affecting health, safety, workflow and quality.
• Inspect civil works on new site builds against client quality standards.
• Deliver ASP-developed instructor-led training for site engineering and installation.

Required profile

• Technical trade certification in electrical or mechanical engineering (N3 to N6), plus an accredited qualification such as a wireman's licence or networking certification.
• NQF level 4 qualification and training in RAN / transmission equipment.
• Minimum 3 to 5 years' experience in RF maintenance, fault finding, integration, installation and testing.
• Experience with RBS 6000 (2G/3G/LTE) installation, script loading, alarm clearance and fault finding, and preferably transmission knowledge.
• Ability to work independently and in a team, with willingness to travel, work at heights and get hands dirty.

Required skills

• Radio knowledge, RF installation, RF fault finding and RF testing (VSWR/DTF).
• Rope access, fall arrest and rigging.
• Basic software commissioning and site surveying and planning.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and software/hardware support.
• OHS knowledge, training and instruction of personnel, and presentation skills.
