About the role
The International Organization for Migration (IOM) is seeking a Senior Project Associate to support the implementation of its programmes in Angola. Reporting to the Head of Programs and under the overall supervision of the Chief of Mission, the incumbent will contribute to the planning, coordination and monitoring of migration‑related activities.
Key responsibilities
- Assist in the design, implementation and evaluation of projects that address migration, displacement and human trafficking.
- Liaise with government authorities, UN agencies, NGOs and other partners to ensure effective collaboration and compliance with national regulations.
- Prepare project documentation, reports, and briefing materials for internal and external stakeholders.
- Support data collection, analysis and the preparation of evidence‑based recommendations.
- Contribute to capacity‑building initiatives for staff and partners on migration issues.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in political science, international relations, development studies, migration studies, human rights, law or a related field, with at least four years of relevant professional experience, or a high‑school diploma with six years of experience.
- Demonstrated experience working with governmental bodies, UN agencies, NGOs and vulnerable groups such as migrants, refugees and victims of trafficking.
- Previous experience in an international humanitarian or development setting is an advantage.
