Senior ISP Engineer

About the role

The ISP Senior Engineer will join Advanlink’s Luanda team to design, implement and maintain the company’s fiber and microwave network infrastructure. This full‑time, on‑site position ensures high‑availability connectivity for government, enterprise and residential customers while supporting the data‑center and hosting services.

Key responsibilities

• Design, deploy and maintain fiber and microwave transmission systems.
• Configure, optimize and monitor ISP routing and switching equipment.
• Ensure network performance, reliability and high availability across all service tiers.
• Troubleshoot complex network incidents and coordinate with vendors for equipment deployment.
• Support data‑center networking, server connectivity and carrier‑grade hosting environments.
• Document network architectures and maintain accurate technical records.
• Mentor junior engineers and technicians, fostering continuous improvement in security, capacity and service quality.

Required profile

• Strong expertise in ISP network design, routing, switching and broadband service delivery.
• Hands‑on experience with fiber and microwave transmission installation, configuration and maintenance.
• Proficiency with telecom equipment such as UBNT and Tenda platforms.
• Solid understanding of data‑center networking and carrier‑grade hosting.
• Knowledge of network security best practices, traffic monitoring and performance optimization.
• Ability to diagnose, resolve and appropriately escalate complex network issues.
• Relevant technical degree or certifications (e.g., Telecommunications, Network Engineering, CCNP) preferred.
• Fluent Portuguese; English proficiency is an advantage.
