RTR Accountant

About the role

An experienced RTR Accountant is sought in Luanda, Angola, to support and coordinate Record-to-Report (RTR) activities together with regional Shared Service Centers. The role maintains accurate accounting records, supports statutory and tax compliance, ensures adherence to company policies and local regulations, and delivers timely financial reporting and month-end close. It reports to the Finance Manager / Country Finance Lead.

Key responsibilities

• General ledger and financial accounting: maintain accurate General Ledger records, prepare and post journal entries, accruals and provisions, reconcile accounts and investigate variances, ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal policies, and support changes in accounting and reporting requirements.
• Month-end and financial reporting: assist with monthly, quarterly and annual closing, prepare financial statements and management reports, analyze financial data and support statutory reporting.
• Tax and compliance: support VAT/IVA reconciliations and submissions, coordinate tax matters with internal and external stakeholders, prepare documentation for tax inspections and audits, and assist with withholding tax reconciliations and monthly filings.
• Audit support: prepare audit schedules and supporting documentation, coordinate with internal and external auditors, address audit requests promptly and help implement audit recommendations and controls.
• Stakeholder management: work with Shared Service Centers and finance teams, build relationships with internal departments and external partners, and support finance process improvements and standardization.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or a related discipline.
• At least 2 years of experience in accounting, general ledger, auditing or accounts payable.
• Experience with SAP or similar ERP systems; experience in a multinational environment is preferred.
• Experience supporting month-end closing and financial reporting.
• Professional proficiency in English and Portuguese; knowledge of local tax regulations and shared service environments is preferred.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting, including general ledger and account reconciliation.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• ERP systems experience (SAP preferred).
• Attention to detail, organization, time management, problem-solving and stakeholder management.
