RNPO Technician – Radio Network Optimization

About the role

Africell is looking for an RNPO Technician to monitor, analyze and optimise its GSM, WCDMA/HSDPA, 4G and 5G radio networks in Cabinda and Lubango, Angola.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor daily radio network statistics across 2G, 3G, 4G and 5G technologies.
• Achieve and maintain KPI targets for accessibility, retainability, mobility and service integrity.
• Identify and resolve congestion, drops, handover, soft‑handover, location update, paging and CSSR issues.
• Perform inconsistency checks, packet‑throughput analysis and parameter or physical changes.
• Test performance of newly integrated sites and coordinate frequency/scrambling‑code retunes.
• Drive test analysis and implement corrective actions to improve area performance.
• Conduct radio network surveys on site to assess hardware and location suitability.
• Participate in trial projects for new products, features and optimisation methods.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years experience in 2G/3G/4G/5G radio communication and optimisation.
• Strong knowledge of GSM, UMTS, LTE and 5G principles, signalling flow and radio transmission.
• Ability to lead and supervise optimisation projects.
• Effective communication, teamwork and knowledge‑sharing skills.
• Good organisational and time‑management abilities.

• Radio Network Optimisation techniques.
• Tools: TCPU, Nemo Analyse, NEMO Handy, OSS, CTR, BO, MCOM, MapInfo, Nemo.
