QSR Country Manager – Angola

About the role

You will be responsible for running Hungry Lion’s entire quick‑service restaurant business in Angola, overseeing operations, growth, people, suppliers and the P&L. Supported remotely by head‑office teams in South Africa, you will make all on‑ground decisions and act quickly when supply disruptions or political unrest occur.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure daily store operations meet SOPs, food safety and hygiene standards for a consistent customer experience.
• Monitor customer feedback and market trends and act on insights.
• Own the P&L, track margins, unit economics and keep repairs and maintenance within budget.
• Expand the footprint by identifying high‑potential sites, securing permits and partnering with the development team on new stores.
• Localise the brand by collaborating with head‑office marketing on campaigns, activations and digital content for Angolan customers.
• Manage supplier relationships, enforce contracts and coordinate logistics to keep supply flowing.
• Build and lead a local team through recruitment, training, succession planning and compliance with labour law and HR policy.
• Ensure health, safety and regulatory compliance, working with licensing and statutory bodies.

Required profile

• 8‑10 years of QSR or food‑and‑beverage management experience covering operations, P&L, expansion, supply chain and people.
• Proven ability to negotiate win‑win outcomes and read people across cultures.
• Fluency in Portuguese (spoken and written) and ability to work comfortably in a multicultural environment.
• Solid knowledge of Angolan legislation and cultural nuances.
• Preferably holds a food‑and‑beverage or QSR management certification.
• Angolan citizenship is preferred.
