Production Technician

About the role

The Production Technician is responsible for operating plant process and utility systems safely and efficiently, ensuring strict adherence to procedures, GEMS and local regulatory requirements. The role also includes executing a range of maintenance and preservation tasks to guarantee equipment reliability and longevity.

Key responsibilities

• Start‑up, operate, monitor and shut‑down process and utility systems.
• Monitor and optimise process parameters such as level, flow, temperature and pressure.
• Carry out sampling activities and act on sample results.
• Troubleshoot to maximise product quality and delivery volume.
• Maintain discharge water quality within contractor or local guidelines.
• Operate electrical and hydraulic control panels, safety and emergency shutdown devices, fire and gas systems.
• Provide accurate daily production reporting and logging.
• Perform cleaning, housekeeping, blasting, spraying/painting, isolation and reinstatement, greasing application, and preservation of topside flanges and bolts.
• Communicate all activities to the supervisor, especially safety‑related issues.

Required profile

• Demonstrated safety awareness and commitment to procedural compliance.
• Strong technical competence in plant operation and maintenance.
• Ability to report and escalate safety concerns promptly.
• Capability to work with subcontractors, visitors, vendors and temporary services.
