Production Operator Internship (Offshore)

About the role

Saipem is seeking a Production Operator Intern to support offshore operations in Luanda. You will work closely with the Production Supervisor and Control Room Operator to ensure safe, efficient plant performance while complying with HSE standards and operational procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and follow operation procedures, QA/QC certification, and fire‑fighting system usage.
• Operate and monitor gas compression, glycol dehydration, hydraulic power units, produced water treatment, cooling, filtration and deaeration systems.
• Start, stop and adjust process systems within engineering limits and process parameters.
• Monitor and control chemical injection and dosing to maintain process efficiency.
• Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and manage isolations/reinstatements in coordination with the Control Room.
• Assist electrical, instrumentation and mechanical technicians during intrusive maintenance.
• Report daily activities to the Production Supervisor.

Required profile

• Technical school education in Petroleum, Process Operations or a related field.
• At least 1 year of experience as a Production Operator in the oil & gas industry.
• Fluent Portuguese and professional English.
• Ability to prepare and isolate plant systems for maintenance following approved procedures.

Required skills

• Operation of gas compression and conditioning units.
• Glycol dehydration unit handling.
• Hydraulic Power Units (HPUs) operation.
• Produced water treatment system management.
• Cooling, filtration and deaeration system operation.
• Chemical injection and dosing control.
• Use of fire‑fighting, HSE and Integrated Control Systems.
• QA/QC certification processes.
• Maintenance and inspection activities.
