Port Engineer – West Africa

About the role

KOTUG is looking for an experienced Port Engineer to support its fleet across West Africa, based in Luanda, Angola. You will work closely with vessel crews, operations, and the technical department to keep vessels safe, reliable and compliant.

Key responsibilities

• Manage day‑to‑day technical performance and reliability of assigned vessels.
• Plan, coordinate and oversee preventive maintenance, corrective repairs, dry dockings and technical projects.
• Conduct vessel inspections, monitor maintenance standards and resolve technical deficiencies.
• Ensure compliance with Class, Flag State, statutory requirements, ISM Code and company procedures.
• Procure technical spare parts, equipment and external services while controlling inventory costs.
• Collaborate with Masters, Chief Engineers, operations teams, contractors and suppliers.
• Monitor maintenance budgets, control repair costs and drive continuous improvement.
• Support audits, client inspections, technical investigations and emergency repairs.

Required profile

• Degree or Diploma in Marine Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in marine engineering, technical vessel management or a similar role.
• Experience with Offshore Support Vessels, Harbour Tugs, towage or offshore marine operations.
• Strong planning, analytical and communication abilities.
