About the role
The United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) is seeking a Monitoring and Evaluation Officer to join its Population and Development team in Luanda, Angola. The officer will support the generation, analysis and use of population data, strengthen monitoring and evaluation systems, and contribute to evidence‑based policy and programme development.
Key responsibilities
- Support analysis and interpretation of demographic data from censuses, surveys and vital statistics, and prepare reports and presentations on population dynamics.
- Assist in workshops, seminars and training activities related to population data and analysis.
- Contribute to research studies, surveys and evidence‑generation initiatives.
- Support the Country Office’s M&E workstream, including data quality assurance, donor reporting and evaluation activities.
- Strengthen M&E frameworks for UNFPA programmes and ensure quality of indicators, results frameworks and communication materials.
- Help develop a real‑time monitoring system for provincial and municipal governments to track key health indicators.
- Provide analytical inputs for joint workplans with the Ministry of Planning and the National Institute of Statistics, integrating population dynamics and emerging trends into national planning.
